Choosing A Branch Of Yoga To Practice

yoga-poseYoga is a discipline that trains and enriches the body, the mind and the spirit. The aim of yoga is to achieve a perfect balance between the three, resulting to a tranquil existence. Practitioners believe that yoga has positively transformed their physical and mental health, as well as cultivated their spiritual well-being.

While yoga has initially been a form of Asian exercise, it has become a widely observed discipline around the world. As it evolved through the years, the popular method of exercise has branched out into several different systems. One may curiously wonder if a type of yoga is superior to the rest. Fortunately, that is not the case. The systems of yoga produce the same results, their difference lies in their methods and practitioners. Here are two of the most practiced branches of yoga today.

Hatha Yoga

Perhaps the most popular of the yoga systems, Hatha Yoga stimulates the physical aspect of one's being. This is practiced by doing specific postures, called "asanas" and progressing to more advanced methods such as Pranayamas, Shatkarmas, Mudras and Bundhas. These practices enable a yogini to purify the body, mind and emotions.

Bhakti Yoga

A strong sense of faith and eternal devotion to God is an essential requirement in practicing Bhakti Yoga. Common practices of this discipline are meditation, chanting and repetition of a mantra. Bhakti Yoga aims to strip its practitioners of their ego and to surrender themselves to a Supreme Being, enabling them to form a relationship with God.

Each system of yoga is unique on its own. There is no "right way" or "better way" of doing yoga. Choosing a system of yoga all depends on the personality, lifestyle and values of the practitioner. The most important thing is that the body, mind and spirit are balanced and working as one through the practice of yoga.

Using Chi Gong For Better Health

chigongIn the western world, the main emphasis of exercise tends to be gaining strength and looking better. In the east, they look at it in another way, focusing on the fitness of not only the body but also the mind. Chi Gong (also known as Qigong) is one such practice that is making its way from the east to the west.

Originating in China, Chi Gong stems from a mixture of Chinese theories in philosophy, martial arts and medicine. It focuses on the manipulation of Chi (vital energy) by alignment of the breath, specialized movements and the heightening of awareness for the betterment of the mind, body and spirit. The four basic elements of this practice are the dynamic, static, meditative and external. They focus, respectively, on pre-determined movement patters, maintaining specific postures, visualization and philosophical awareness in breath and chi circulation and outside influences such as massage, herbal treatments and social interaction.

Using this form of exercise has the effect of improving both bodily and mental health. One will experience increased energy, better circulation and a more efficient metabolism from the physical exercise. The mental training will produce a calmness of mind, better sleeping patterns and consequently one will have a better outlook on the world around them. The awareness of body that is gained will help with balance and increase control over the body’s movements.

There are many accounts of people using this practice to achieve miraculous things, such as curing their cancer. While these claims may or may not be true, what is true is that people who practice Chi Gong are generally healthier and happier. By looking at a typical Chi Gong review one can see that the majority of people are satisfied by the results they get from the exercise and the meditation.

Having something calming and meditative may be a great addition to a typical western workout and a nice break from the gym. Chi Gong is easy to do at home or in any quiet setting, like the local park. Being that it is a low-impact exercise routine, it can be the perfect choice for the elderly or those suffering physical disabilities as well.

Is Tai Chi Right For You?

Tai Chi is growing in popularity in the west, and for good reason. Its slow, meditative pace is much different from the typical western fast high-impact workouts, or even other forms of Eastern exercise such as traditional martial arts. However, this is exactly what makes it a great complement to those programs.

Tai Chi has many health benefits, many of which are difficult to find in some western fitness routines. For example, flexibility is a major benefit of Tai Chi, while most exercises at the gym other than the warm-up stretches do not include that. Like other forms of Eastern exercise, it places an emphasis on whole body well-being rather than simply focusing on strength or stamina, although those are also important aspects.

At the same time, the emphasis on slow, mindful movement and careful breathing induces a meditative state. Meditation has been proven to reduce stress and even provide physical benefits such as a decrease in chronic pain and lower cholesterol. Combining that with physical exercise further increases those effects.

When combined with western workouts that increase cardiovascular stamina and feature more intense strength-building exercises, Tai Chi can provide the perfect balance for a healthy body and mind. By providing variety, it can help you stay fresh and excited about your workout. In addition, those are real martial arts moves you are doing, although of course they have been slowed down greatly.

This Tai Chi review is designed to help you decide whether this Eastern exercise method would be a good addition to your fitness routine. Simply put, the answer for most people is a resounding yes! Although it can take some work to integrate it with the typical intense western workout routine, it is worth it. Many fitness instructors are realizing this and are already including Tai Chi in their workout plans.

Zumba Exercise: Get Moving, Get Fit

Anyone looking for an aerobic exercise with a little more zing has probably considered Zumba, an exercise that incorporates aerobic and dance moves. Zumba was invented in the 1990s by Alberto Perez of Colombia, who mixes Latin dances such as salsa, mambo, samba and merengue with elements of American hip-hop, Middle Eastern belly dancing and Asian Bollywood dancing and martial arts. So, does the Zumba exercise work?

The inventor of Zumba was actually teaching an aerobics class when he accidentally stumbled into the new exercise routine. Forgetting to bring the music for the class he was supposed to lead, Perez simply made do with the merengue and salsa music he had on hand. It was new, it was refreshing and it worked. Zumba became a success in Colombia.

Zumba in the USA
When Perez took Zumba overseas, it was more than welcome. U.S.A exercise trends were mostly geared towards aerobics and weight-lifting, while a few have begun using martial arts elements by then. However, Zumba proved innovative enough because it was different - it was fun to do and no one felt like it was a real exercise, thanks to the music and dance styles used. The choreography for the moves is simple and easy to repeat and people felt they were just out dancing instead of exercising. Anyone who ever felt like going to the gym was like a job will not likely feel the same way with Zumba.

So does it work?
Zumba targets several different fitness needs and there are levels designed for people of different ages. It increases resistance and heart rate and improves balance and coordination thanks to its choreography. Aside from the cardio workout benefits, it also encourages participants to lose their inhibitions. Since it moves the whole body, different groups of muscles are addressed during a session. It is estimated that one session can help shed 500 to 1,000 calories.  Combine that with a popular brand hCG1234 and you'll be able to achieve some rapid weight loss!

Zumba is usually taught in a class by an instructor (currently there are about 20,000 in over 30 countries) but the fitness kit consisting of 7 workouts is also available for those who prefer to work out at home.

It does not stop there. Zumba has an express diet that is purportedly helpful in shedding 9lbs. in just 5 days. The Zumba review diet was designed as the supplement for the exercise routine to help people lose weight safely and still get the nutrients they need without the burden of calories. It is a one-two punch designed to get people moving and eating the right things.

One popular option is Team USA workouts, based on the work that Olympic athletes do to keep themselves in shape and prepare to compete. These may be a bit challenging for people who are just starting a workout program. They combine sport specific drills with plyometrics (jumping drills), and heart rate-jolting cardio activities from jumping jacks to sprints.

HCG Drops For A Fit And Fab Body

Human chorionic gonadotropin or HCG is causing quite a stir in the world of weight loss nowadays.   Consequently this gave birth to the HCG diet.  It is said that the administration of HCG drops (which later on was dubbed as HCG diet drops) to the body can help hasten fat loss among those who are trying to trim down.  This brings forth the question as to what exactly is HCG?

HCG is a hormone that is produced in women during pregnancy.  It aids the baby’s growth and development inside the womb by giving the baby access to the stored fats in the mother’s body.  So now we pose the obvious question as to how this will aid weight loss for those who are not pregnant.  It is said that together with a diet that has been specifically made to accompany it, hCG diet drops when inside our body’s system, signals our hypothalamus to trigger movement from our stored fats.  When this happens, our bodies get the required caloric supply as needed thereby making us full.  Hence, we will no longer feel hungry since our body is getting the right amount of calories, all thanks to the hCG drops that we have taken.

According to one HCG review, the demand for HCG diet drops have progressed as more and more people are being introduced to this method.  Dr. A.T.W. Simeons, the father of this breakthrough, advises those who are taking hCG diet drops to follow a specific diet program which he had come up with based on proper studies and research.  His diet recipe calls for a consumption of no more than 500 calories for each day on the diet to prevent obesity.  Using hCG drops would require the weight watcher to strictly follow the HCG diet.

It might seem pretty difficult at first however, the rewards are truly wonderful.  At an average, a person can lose a pound a day. Dr. Simeons’ has published a book titled “Pounds and Inches” which further explains his studies and research and furthermore discusses his diet program in detail.  There is still an ongoing debate if this is indeed a legit diet although it has been approved by the DFA already.  There are several pros and cons that come along with it noting the fact that the effect varies from one person to another.  It really depends on the individual concerned.
